Spam Battle. Partie Deux.

The spam all links to the domain of:
http://t-e-x-a-s-poker.com

The site itself contains nothing on the outset – just baseless text. So who is texaspoker? Well that’s the fun bit. The WHOIS points to a registrar of “gandi.net”. Gandi.net has this to say on the domain:

But will gandi.net do anything of this spamer? Well, not even worth a try according to its clause.

by doing a whois on any domain name found in the email, you see that the domain name is handled by Gandi: Gandi is an ICANN accredited Registrar, and as such registers domain names on behalf of its customer. Gandi provides no webhosting nor email accounts to its customer, only the registration of the domain name. The use of the domain name is only up to the person owning it, and/or its contacts (see whois to find the owner and the contacts of the domain name). We can not deactivate and even less delete a domain name just because it is used in a spam: we can not and do not want to act as a judge.

There are many other gems on the registrar’s site, such as tidbits which says that if you get Spam from them, its a demonstration that their mail relays works and its a good thing. Right.

  1. […] t-e-x-a-s-poker.com: Another spam mongering! They are spamming my site like mad, sending more than 30 links everyday in my comments. If they were really a good online casino, would you think they’d even need to act shamelessly like that? I would never even to save my life give them my credit card number. Besides, the whole goal is to get more links to them to give them credit. So the day they will want to advertise their REAL identity, they will just put a few links in here and they will automatically go to #1. How insidious. Who’s responsible? This blogger looked at the whois. Not a lot of research but better than nothing. Another diet pill that doesn’t work! I am constantly receiving spam, to the reason of 15 links per day from them. Of course, it’s never from them directly (the former link is technically the real one and should be ok), but from distributors and other places, right now it’s phentermine375.com that are asses. But if they were really without reproach, don’t you think they’d stop that nonsense and act vigourously to stop wrongdoers in their tracks? I suggest you go to the excellent drugs.com page on Phentermine and go crazy on all the side effects. Incredibly interesting to know they are advertising to the public a diet pill that is habit forming. Like they don’t know it and don’t want people to eat that ’till they die. Dishonorable mention to Cialis and Viagra. I receive at least 5 links per day from each of them in my comments. It’s really interesting to know they seem never to step on these wrongdoers again, receiving publicity like mad. […]
